Active Severe Weather Emergencies

The National Weather Service has issued a severe weather warning for the northern part of South Dakota.

A strong upper-level low pressure system moved from the Rockies on May 5, 2024, to the Northern Plains on May 6-8.

More than 25 million people are under the threat of severe storms Monday from Dallas to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. (CNN)

Reported Tornadoes

Joshua Tatman captured a tornado around 12:45 PM MST just south of Mud Butte, SD, and 30 miles ENE of Newell, SD.

On June 2, eleven tornadoes were reported across Texas, North Dakota, and South Dakota.

These tornadoes were scattered, but one reached EF-3 intensity.
