Jean-Philippe Mateta scored twice and Michael Olise added another goal as France came from behind to beat Egypt 3-1 in the semifinals of the men's Olympic football tournament on Thursday.
Egypt took the lead through Ahmed Yasser Rayyan in the 12th minute, but Mateta equalized for France just three minutes later.
Olise put France ahead in the 70th minute, and Mateta sealed the victory with his second goal in the 84th minute.
France will now face Spain in the gold medal match on Saturday, while Egypt will play Mexico in the bronze medal match.
Mateta has now scored four goals in the competition, and he is the leading scorer for France.
France is seeking its first Olympic gold medal in men's football, while Egypt is aiming to win its first Olympic medal in any sport.
The match was played in front of a crowd of 50,277 at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais.
