Alex Marquez Wins British MotoGP Sprint Race
Alex Marquez held off a late charge from Marco Bezzecchi to win the British MotoGP sprint race at Silverstone on Saturday. The LCR Honda rider started from pole position and led for the majority of the race, but Bezzecchi closed the gap in the final laps. Marquez held on for the win, with Bezzecchi finishing just 0.046 seconds behind.
Marquez's win is his first of the 2023 MotoGP season. He is now fourth in the championship standings, 21 points behind leader Fabio Quartararo.
Antonelli Wins First F2 Race in Style at Silverstone
Prema's Andrea Kimi Antonelli took a masterful victory in his first Formula 2 race at Silverstone on Saturday. The 18-year-old Italian started from second on the grid and took the lead on the opening lap. He controlled the race from there, leading every lap and winning by a margin of 2.5 seconds.
Antonelli's win is a major boost for his Formula 1 ambitions. He is now third in the F2 championship standings, just 13 points behind leader Felipe Drugovich.
