Fernando Alonso's heavy crash in FP3 at Imola brought out the red flags and caused a lengthy delay to the session. The Spaniard lost control of his Alpine at Variante Alta and crashed heavily into the barriers. He was uninjured in the incident, but his car was badly damaged. The session was red-flagged for over 20 minutes while the wreckage was cleared.

Qualifying for the Imola Grand Prix will begin at 4pm local time (2.30pm BST). The session will be shown live on Sky Sports F1 in the United Kingdom.
